Sky Deutschland extends deal with Turner

Sky Deutschland has extended and expanded its distribution partnership with Turner Broadcast.

The deal with Turner Germany means that Sky customers will continue to have access to TNT Film, TNT Series, TNT Comedy, Boomerang and Cartoon Network, bringing content including flagship German series 4 Blocks.

As part of the deal, TNT Comedy will be made available for Sky’s cable customers on the Vodafone and Unitymedia networks for the first time. Turner content will also be available on a linear and on-demand basis on Sky’s streaming service Sky Ticket.

The TNT Film channel will also be available via satellite in HD as part of the Sky Cinema package for the first time.

The deal applies to Sky’s services in Austria as well as Germany.

Manuel Kindervater, VP of partner channels for Sky Deutschland said that the company “looked forward to continuing our collaboration and to working with Turner”.

Matthias Henze, VP, commercial and general manager, eastern Europe and Benelux and Turner, said that the new agreement enabled the pair “to jointly increase the distribution of some of our channels” and also gave “long-term security” to the group, encouraging it to invest in content and build its portfolio of channels.
