Tele Columbus names new technology chief
German cable operator Tele Columbus – which now operates under the PŸUR brand – has named Dietmar Pöltl as chief technology officer, following the decision of Ludwig Modra to leave the group.
Pöltl comes to Tele Columbus from Vodafone Deutschland, where he has served as vice-president of the service assurance centre with responsibility for mobile, fixed and cable networks since 2016. He was previously vice-president of central network and assurance management at Kabel Deutschland, subsequently acquired by Vodafone, and has also held senior positions at T-Mobile and Tele2 Austria.
Modra, who has been responsible for the group’s technology platforms since November 2015, having previously held the same position at Primacom, will leave the group in October.
Prior to joining Primacom, which was subsequently absorbed by Tele Columbus, Modra served as vice-president for network engineering and operations at Unitymedia-Kabel BW.
Tele Columbus CEO Timm Degenhardt thanked Modra for his “dedication and commitment”, particularly in relation to seeing through Tele Columbus’ acquisition and integration of Primacom and Pepcom.
Degenhardt said that Pöltl would bring his expertise to help push through Tele Columbus’ harmonisation of its networks, the expansion of its fibre footprint and its orientation to deliver superior customer service.
