Parrot Analytics: Orange is the New Black tops UK in-demand list
Netflix’s Orange is the New Black topped Parrot Analytics’ list of the top 10 most ‘in-demand’ digital originals in the UK market for the week ending July 29.
Parrot Analytics analyses the demand for recent popular digital titles across international markets, based on the application of artificial intelligence to expressions of demand across social media, fan sites, peer-to-peer protocols and file-sharing platform
The Netflix prison drama scored an average of 5.36 million demand expressions for the week from July 23-29, placing it above Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, which is available free-to-air in the UK on Channel 4 and which scored an average of 4.494 million demand expressions. Third-placed in the UK list was Netflix’s Queer Eye, with an average of 3.36 million demand expressions.
The remainder of list was dominated by Netflix original titles, with only two non-Netflix originals making the cut: Star Trek: Discovery – a CBS: All Access original that is distributed by Netflix in the UK – at number five and Amazon’s The Grand Tour at number eight.
The other titles in the list were Stranger Things, Castle Rock, 13 Reasons Why, Marvel’s Luke Cage and Narcos.
