DAZN lines up additional content for Italian service

Sports streaming service DAZN has announced a raft of additional content deals for its new service in Italy, which is anchored around its exclusive rights to 114 Serie A football matches per season over the next three years.

DAZN will bring to the Italian service rights to Spain’s La Liga, France’s Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana from South America, the Africa Cup of nations, the English FA Cup and EFL Cup, NHL hockey and MLB baseball, Heineken Champions Cup and Guinness Pro14 rugby, UFC, Matchroom Boxing, Showtime Boxing, Bellator mixed martial arts, PDC Darts and the World Rally Championship.

In addition to exclusive rights to 114 Serie A matches, DAZN has rights to show all 462 Serie B fixtures over the next three years.

The first big football event streamed on the service will be the Trophée ds Champions match between French sides PsG and Monaco in Shenzhen, China, tomorrow afternoon. The first Serie A match will be between Lazio and Napoli on August 18.

The Italian service, which can be accessed on smart TVs, PCs, smartphones, tablets and game consoles, is available for €9.99 a month. DAZN has also struck deals with Sky and Mediaset Premium to make the service available to their customers.
