HBO Nordic partners with Turner on OTT kids service Toonix
Premium streaming service HBO Nordic, home of series such as Game of Thrones, Westworld and Big Little Lies, has launched a new kids’ and family service Toonix in partnership with Turner EMEA.
The new service will be available to consumers on the HBO Nordic website and via selected distribution partners in the Nordic region. It is ad-free and will be available to HBO Nordic subscribers at no extra charge.
Targeted at 3-12 year olds and their families, Toonix offers a mix of kids’ series and movies including content from Turner’s Cartoon Network Studios and Warner Bros. Animation. At launch, it has 2000 episodes of localised content including The Amazing World of Gumball, Lego Ninjago, Looney Tunes, The Powerpuff Girls, and Ben 10. There are also live-action series such as Dance Academy.
“Thanks to our cooperation with Turner, we are very pleased to be able to provide our Nordic subscribers with a complete offer of the best premium content,” said Hervé Payan, CEO, HBO Europe. “Now our adult TV-series fans as well as families with kids can enjoy all their favourite shows on HBO Nordic.”
“At Turner we are constantly seeking new ways to engage with our fans, expanding our options to curate and distribute our content,” added Giorgio Stock, president Turner EMEA. “We’re delighted to be partnering with HBO Nordic to start this OTT venture, which represents a significant and exciting new milestone in our ability to provide our fans with a trusted, bespoke, rich and immersive user offering.”
