Mirada launches smart TV and streaming device apps
TV technology provider Mirada has launched new apps for a range of smart TVs and streaming devices to complement its Iris multiscreen TV platform.
Mirada has developed apps to enable operators to deliver content and Iris features to LG and Samsung Smart TVs, Android TV-based Smart TVs such as Panasonic, Philips, Sharp and Sony, Android TV streaming devices, Apple TV and Chromecast.
The Iris platform previously enabled the deliver of advanced TV services to set-top boxes, smartphones, tablets and laptops.
Mirada said that the launch of the raft of smart TV and streaming apps would enable operators to deliver their services across an expanded range of popular devices, expanding their potential customer base.
The company said the apps will include all of the features of Iris, including start-over, session transfer, content discovery tools and cloud DVR.
The company will introduce its new apps at the Broadcast Asia event in Singapore in June ahead of the first commercial launch with an unnamed operator in the Americas later this year.
