Mediapro teams up with Google for Brasileirao football on YouTube

Spanish producer and broadcaster Mediapro has teamed up with Google to make Brazil’s Campeonato Brasileño de Serie A football tournament available on YouTube in 27 territories across Europe, Asia and Oceania.

The new YouTube channel will offer over 110 matches from the competition – popularly known as the Brasileirao – available, along with highlights of matches played in any given day.

The service, accessible at youtube.com/brasileirao, will be available in France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Belarus, Moldavia, Ukraine, Russia and the CIS, Mongolia, Malaysia, Brunei, Taiwan, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand.

Mediapro said that offering the Brasileirao on youTube represented a new step in its ongoing drive to develop new and innovative ways to consume media. The Catalan broadcaster already has extensive experience of offering sports services on YouTube, having provided the La Liga channel on the video platform since 2012.
