Vivacom sees IPTV success
Bulgarian telco Vivacom grew its TV base by 9% last year to end 2017 with 447,000 pay TV customers, of which 46% took its IPTV service, up from 42% a year earlier.
The company now claims to be the country’s leading IPTV provider, with a 61% market share. The company said that demand was being driven by high-quality services with a superior user experience, rich content and HD channels.
Over the year, Vivacom grew its fixed broadband base by 9.8% to 480,000, of which 54% were connected to its FTTX network. The number of fibre homes passed increased by 3.8% to 1.128 million.
Fixed voice customers declined by 13% to 806,000, while mobile customers declined by 1.5% to 3.085 million.
The company said its investment in its fibre network remained a key priority.
Vivacom posted revenues of BGN889.5 million (€453.8 million), up 1.6%, and adjusted EBITDA of BGN318.9 million.
