FuboTV adds TV content after partnering with AMC Networks
US sports streaming service, FuboTV, is branching into TV content after striking a deal with AMC Networks to offer AMC’s linear channels and streaming services to subscribers.
In the coming weeks AMC Networks’ AMC, BBC America, Sundance, IFC and WE tv channels will be added to the Fubo Premier package, allowing viewers to access shows like The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul and Planet Earth.
In addition, AMC Premiere will be available to subscribers of Fubo Premier on an add-on basis, while BBC World News will be made available to FuboTV subscribers as part of a forthcoming premium package.
AMC Networks’ streaming services Shudder and Sundance Now will be the first subscription-video-on-demand services that FuboTV will offer to its subscribers.
“We are excited to have AMC Networks – one of the industry’s most innovative and exciting media companies – as our newest strategic partner,” said FuboTV CFO Joel Armijo.
“Not only will our subscribers soon have access to entertainment content that drives some of the biggest audiences on TV, we are also looking forward to building on our partnership in the days and weeks to come.”
Bob Broussard, president of distribution for AMC Networks, said: “FuboTV is fast-becoming a popular streaming option for viewers who want access to the best live sports and entertainment content available on any device and we are pleased to bring our popular, distinct and culturally relevant networks and streaming services to their line-up.”
