M6 strikes carriage deal with Bouygues Telecom
French commercial broadcaster M6 Group has struck a distribution agreement with Bouygues Telecom, adding to its recent deals with Altice-SFR and Canal+.
M6 said its deal with Bouygues Telecom provided for the carriage of its channels and non-linear services. The deal will also enable Bouygues Telecom TV subscribers to access extended catch-up TV windows for M6 programmes along with additional on-demand content, programmes available in an avant-première window ahead of their airing on terrestrial TV and a number of other advanced TV services including startover and casting.
The pair said they would also collaborate in developing advanced advertising solutions.
M6 struck a similar agreement with Altice-SFR in January, and agreed a carriage deal with Canal+ two weeks later.
Larger rival commercial broadcaster TF1 has also previously agreed terms with Altice and Bouygues Telecom – with which it shares common ownership – but remains at loggerheads with Canal+. TF1 has so far failed to agree terms with the country’s largest ISP, Orange, leading it to withdraw its channels and non-linear services from Orange’s IPTV platform.
