Star Trek: Discovery tops Parrot list for Switzerland
Star Trek: Discovery topped Parrot Analytics’ top 10 list of in-demand digital originals in Switzerland for the week ending February 11.
The sci-fi show, which is produced for CBS All Access in the US but is distributed by Netflix internationally, garnered over 1.186 million average demand expressions for the week from February 5-11, putting it far ahead of any other show in the list.
The first season of Star Trek: Discovery has just aired on the platform, with a second season promised for next year. Star Trek: Discovery was the first original series made specifically for CBS All Access, which distributes current and past seasons of CBS shows for US$5.99 a month in the US.
Parrot Analytics analyses the demand for recent popular digital titles across international markets, based on the application of artificial intelligence to expressions of demand across social media, fan sites, peer-to-peer protocols and file-sharing platforms.
Netflix’s Altered Carbon took the number two spot in Parrot’s Swiss list, with 347,518 demand expressions, followed by Stranger Things, Black Mirror and Narcos.
The number six slot was take by the only non-Netflix title in the list, Amazon’s The Grand Tour.
The remainder of the top 10 comprised Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, Sense8, Daredevil and Marvel’s Jessica Jones.
