LG introduces ThinQ AI in latest smart TVs

LG is embedding artificial intelligence (AI) functionality into its 2018 smart TV line, letting consumers use their TVs as smart-home hubs.

LG is introducing ThinQ AI and an advanced image processor in its latest LG OLED and LG Super UHD TVs.

The ThinQ technology will let customers speak directly into their TV’s remote control to enable voice assistant technology.It will also allow users to access other smart home products such as robotic vacuum cleaners, air conditioners, air purifiers, smart lights, smart speakers and other connected devices.

LG’s newest α (Alpha) 9 processor, meanwhile, will also be included in the new line-up of TVs, which will be demoed at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week.
