CuriosityStream joins Sling TV
CuriosityStream, the factual subscription video-on-demand service created by Discovery Channel founder John Hendricks, has joined the Sling TV OTT platform operated by Dish Network in the US.
CuriosityStream can be purchased as a premium add-on channel with select services, and its 1,500 titles will be available in Sling TV’s on-demand library.
Subscribers of Sling Orange, Sling Blue, and Sling TV’s Spanish-language and international services will have access to CuriosityStream’s most popular content, including Stephen Hawking’s Favorite Places, David Attenborough’sLight On Earth, Deep Time History and The Celts: Blood, Iron & Sacrifice.
Sling Orange subscribers and Sling Blue subscribers have access to a free preview of CuriosityStream already in their channel guide until December 13. CuriosityStream on Sling TV is being offered as a standalone channel with eligible services for US$6 per month. Sling subscribers can add CuriosityStream to their lineup by updating their account preferences at Sling.com.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to launch on Sling TV, America’s first live and on-demand television streaming service,” said Clint Stinchcomb, CuriosityStream’s chief distribution officer.
“Sling TV’s elegant, user-friendly platform makes subscribing to CuriosityStream extraordinarily simple, and gives viewers the ultimate power in on-demand viewing.”
