Zoomin.TV and Ownzones agree app and content deal
OTT entertainment and technology provider Ownzones has struck a three-year partnership deal with MTG-owned online video network Zoomin.TV.
Under the agreement Zoomin.TV will create content for Ownzones’ media content and network platforms, while Ownzones will build at least 10 dedicated mobile and over-the-top (OTT) Zoomin.TV apps.
Ownzones will use Zoomin.TV’s experience in producing gen Z-targeted content to create new programming for its own Ownzones OTT networks – including the premium, ad-supported cannabis lifestyle channel, 420TV, which is due to launch in early 2018.
The dedicated Zoomin.TV apps will be available for Android, iOS, Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire and mark the video network’s first move into the mobile and over-the-top space.
“Ownzones is helping Zoomin.TV tap into the unrealised revenue of OTT consumption with its already-massive user base,” said G.O. Burton Ownzones’ senior vice president of distribution and partnerships.
Zoomin.TV CEO, Jan Riemens, said: “With 3.2 billion monthly impressions across our current network of platforms, Zoomin.TV’s content has enjoyed a tremendous response from viewers around the globe, but there are so many more we could reach, inform and entertain with dedicated apps for mobile devices and set-top boxes.
“Ownzones is not only giving us that access for the first time, but also a means to easily manage and get the most out of the apps and their content using a system that’s truly innovative.”
Zoomin.TV claims to publish more than 400 videos in over 20 languages daily – across news, entertainment, sports and music – in collaboration with some 3,500 freelance video journalists and content makers globally.
Ownzones Media Network describes itself as a “tribrid” media company that combines content, distribution and technology solutions for the film, TV and digital entertainment industries.
