Star Trek: Discovery tops in-demand digital originals for Russia
Star Trek: Discovery was the clear leader in Parrot Analytics’ ‘in-demand’ ratings of digital original series for Russia for the week to October 24.
The show, which was created by US on-demand service CBS All Access, is distributed internationally by Netflix, which otherwise dominated the Russian top 10 with its own content.
Parrot Analytics analyses the demand for recent popular digital titles across international markets, based on the application of artificial intelligence to expressions of demand across social media, fan sites, peer-to-peer protocols and file-sharing platforms.
Star Trek: Discovery secured 10.544 million ‘in-demand expressions’, making the show the clear leader in Russia for that week.
It was followed by Stranger Things, with 8.337 million in-demand expressions, and Narcos, with 8.21 million.
The only other non-Netflix title in the top 10 was Amazon’s The Grand Tour, which came in ninth with 3.3 million in-demand expressions.
The other shows in the top 10 were Black Mirror, Mind Hunter, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, Marvel’s The Defenders, House of Cards and 13 Reasons Why.
