Kwesé TV launches in Nigeria
Econet Media-owned African pay TV service, Kwesé TV, has officially launched in Nigeria.
Kwesé held a press launch in Lagos last week to announce the service and unveiled a number of pricing options for customers.
“Choose whatever payment plan suits you from our three, seven or 30 days flexible payment plan with access to over 60 premium and exclusive channels,” said the company in information published alongside the launch.
Users can opt for a three-day subscription priced at NGN990 (€2.34), a seven-day subscription for NGN1,850, a monthly subscription for NGN6,275. Dish, decoder and installation costs NGN10,960 and includes one month free subscription.
Kwesé TV is a new satellite-delivered pay TV service for Africa. It first launched in Ghana, Rwanda and Zambia in January, marking the first stage of a phased rollout across the African continent.
Since then it has gone live in markets including Zimbabwe and this month announced a joint venture with Vice Media to launch a new bureau and production studio in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Earlier this month Kwesé also added a new bouquet of free-to-air channels to its offering, featuring at least five channels that are usually only available to pay TV users.
These include the Kwesé Free Sports Channel which offers live sports games from the English Premier League and NBA basketball.
