Telekom Austria in deal with Ginx Esports TV
Ginx Esports TV has struck deal with Telekom Austria Group that will see the eSports channel made available across Europe on Eutelsat 16A and distributed to most of the Austrian telco’s subsidiaries.
The deal is the third launch for Ginx Esports TV in recent months, following carriage deals in South Africa and Israel.
Ginx Esports TV, which is backed by Sky and ITV, features live eSports tournaments such as the International Dota 2 Championship, E League (CS:GO, Overwatch, Streetfighter) and Call of Duty World League, together with news, lifestyle, documentary and presenter-led live shows filmed and produced at its Kings Cross studios.
Telekom Austria Group is a leading provider of digital services and communications solutions in central and eastern Europe. Telekom Austria Group owns a state-of-the-art earth station in Aflenz in the Styrian Alps for offering a variety of satellite services and provides direct2home solution for TV broadcasters, willing to extend their geographical footprint in CEE via satellite and contributing their signal to numerous pay-tv operators in the region. Telekom Austria will deliver technical broadcast services to Ginx from its earth station in Aflenz in the Styrian Alps.
