AsiaSat names new general counsel
Satellite operator AsiaSat has named Saphina Ho as its new general counsel.
Ho succeeds Catherine Chang, who is leaving the company.
Ho will become a member of the AsiaSat management team, overseeing all of the company’s legal affairs.
She was previously assistant general counsel at Pacnet Global, and has also worked for New World Mobility and Global One as in-house lawyer.
“We welcome Saphina to AsiaSat with much enthusiasm, as her expertise and substantial legal experience will contribute to the company’s continued success. I am confident that Saphina will succeed in maintaining the company’s stature and reputation as the leading satellite operator in Asia,” said Andrew Jordan, president and CEO of AsiaSat.
“I would also like to thank Catherine Chang for over 23 years of outstanding and dedicated service to AsiaSat. Catherine has been a very strong leader, and one who has set up AsiaSat’s legal department and since 1994 led a professional team in making a hugely positive contribution to the continued growth of the company. I wish her all the best for her next chapter.”
Ho said: “I am delighted to begin this new role, especially while joining during the upcoming launch of the company’s most powerful satellite, AsiaSat 9. I look forward to working closely with each department to help drive the growth and distinction of the company.”
