Opera TV becomes Vewd
Opera TV has adopted a new brand identity, including a logo and website, which it says is designed to better illustrate the company’s mission to enable entertainment everywhere through OTT products and services.
The new brand, Vewd will be used across the company’s product lines. The Opera TV SDK, the company’s HTML5 SDK, becomes Vewd Core.
Other products include Vewd Program Guide, the company’s modular programme guide that combines linear and on-demand content.
New features that use the latest HbbTV standards include dynamic content insertion and media synchronization. At IBC Vewd will also highlight partnerships with the BBC and IRT.
The company will also highlight Vewd App Store 2.1 supported by TV App toolkit Vewd Snap 3.0.
“Today is a milestone for Vewd as we step out with our own brand that expresses our primary goal: enabling content to be viewed everywhere,” said Aneesh Rajaram, CEO, Vewd.
“Our new visual identity highlights the universal elements of our industry – a play button, a screen, and the fragmented content landscape. While today is day one for Vewd, we build on our legacy as long-time leaders in OTT and remain committed not only to strengthen that position but push ourselves and our industry forward even faster.”
Vewd will be exhibiting at IBC on stand 14.A20
