BT unveils new-look TV app

BT has launched a new-look BT TV app for smartphones and tablets.

The new app is available to all BT TV customers at no extra cost, and enables viewing of live channels and on-demand programmes to which they subscribe.

The app enables functionality such as allowing viewers to pick up a programme at the point they stopped viewing on the BT TV Player on their set-top box. It also enables them to record programmes remote and save programmes into favourites to watch later on the set-top.

BT rolled out the new generation of its YouView user interface in February with a set-top update. The new YouView included a new main menu, a faster full-screen guide and quickly access to media palyers and apps. The platform was rebuilt around HTML5, which the company said would open the way to more new feature sin the future.
