Google exec Karin Bonde has left the tech giant to become VP of Discovery Networks Nordics’ digital entertainment business.

She begins her new role next Tuesday (August 22), based in Stockholm, where she will also be part of the management team of Discovery Networks Sweden.
The move comes after regional digital chief Sindre Østgård left in February after less than a year in his post.

All regional Dplay OTT teams in the Nordic region will now report into Bonde, who will also work closely with Eurosport Player’s local chief, Trine Fjellberg Falnes.
At Google Sweden, Bonde was a video solutions specialist. She has previously worked for MTG-owned Viasat and Viaplay, and Schibsted.
“Karin has wide experience in business development and thelaunch of complex digital products,” said Discovery Networks Nordics digital entertainment chief Tine Austvoll Jensen.
“Her background from Google, Viasat, Viaplay and Schibsted made her a perfect candidate for this job. She will play an important role in the further planning and construction of the digital route forward for Discovery, and will help us lift our Dplay entertainment platform to new levels.”
