Vivacom grows IPTV base
Bulgarian service provider Vivacom grew its IPTV subscriber base to 426,000 at the end of June, up from 390,000 a year earlier. The proportion of overall subscribers taking the TV service rose from 40% to 44% in the same period.
Vivacom claims to be the leading IPTV operator in Bulgaria. The company is the country’s top-ranked broadband player, with a market share of 26%.
Fixed broadband customers numbered 452,000 at the end of June, up 10%, of which 53.3% were fibre customers. Fixed voice customers fell by 12.3% year-on-year to 866,000. Mobile subscribers numbered 3.135 million, up 2.4%.
Vivacom posted revenue of BGN432 million (€220 million) for the first half, up 0.6% year-on-year. Fixed-line revenue was up 5.3% to BGN173.5 million. Adjusted EBITDA for the group stood at BGN161.2 million, up 2.5%.
At the beginning of August, Vivacom introduced the ability to customise the numbering of TV channels in its line-up, enabling customers to arrange the ordering of channels according to theiur own preferences or to choose from one of two pre-defined layouts, a standard line-up or one that prioritised HD channels.
