More US service providers sign up for SES’s Ultra HD service
Nine new US cable and telecom operators have signed up to take satellite operator SES’s Ultra HD pre-packaged service, taking the total now testing the SES 4K content delivery platform to 30.
The new arrivals are South Dakota and Minnesota’s Alliace Communications, Ohio-based Cincinnati Bell, Washington-based Douglas County Community Network, national telco Hotwire, Midwestern operators Midco and Midwest Video Solutions, Illinois-based Oneida Telephone Exchange, national IPTV player Skitter TV and South Dakota-based South Dakota Networks.
According to SES, of the 30 operators that have adopted the platform, three have already initiated commercial linear Ultra HD services in subscriber homes via SES’s end-to-end solution: Marquette-Adams Communications in Wisconsin, Highlands Cable Group in North Carolina, and, most recently, EPB Fiber Optics in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The platform combines satellite distribution services, reception gear, and a 4K Ultra HD channel line-up that includes Fashion One 4K, Travelxp 4K, 4KUniverse, NASA TV UHD, Insight TV, UHD1, C4K360, Funbox UHD, Nature Relaxation 4K and SES’s UHD demonstration channel.
