Intelsat adopts new structure and hires TWC exec for media
Intelsat has reorganised its management team with a new structure based on its three core business areas, and three new leadership appointments covering broadband, mobility and media businesses respectively.
The media business will be led by Robert Cerbone, who is joining the company from Time Warner Cable, where he most recently served as vie-president and general manager for wireless products.
Cerbone will be tasked with the development of Intelsat’s linear and non-linear media strategy, including developing solutions to streamline distribution across various global platforms.
Intelsat has named former EMEA sales vice-president Jean-Philippe Gillet as vice-president and general manager of broadband, while Mark Rasmussen, previously VP for the Americas becomes vice-president and general manager of mobility.
Gillet will be charged with new product and service deployment, including the commercialisation of the new Intelsat Epic NG high-throughput fleet.
Rasmussen will be tasked with new product and service development for the global mobility sector, including expansion of the new IntelsatOne Flex Maritime and Aeronautic managed services.
“This change to our leadership structure is a reflection of the dynamic evolution currently taking place in the telecommunications landscape,” said Kurt Riegelman, Intelsat’s senior vice-president, sales and marketing.
“Our customers require transformative technology to solve their challenges and ubiquitous, reliable connectivity that is accessible anytime and anywhere. Our new organisational structure, aligned more closely to the major customer sets served by our business, meets those needs while bringing new agility to our market presence, greater innovations and value to our customers, and accelerated growth for our business initiatives.”
