FINA taps Deltatre for launch of OTT TV aquatic sports service
International aquatic sports organisation the Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA) has teamed up with Bruin Sports Capital-owned sports media technology outfit Deltatre to launch an OTT TV subscription service featuring exclusive coverage of its live events.
The service, FINAtv, will kick off with comprehensive coverage of the FINA World Championships in Budapest. The service will be available on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, desktops and TVs via Apple AirPlay and Google Chromecast.
FINAtv is offering a FINA World Championship Pass, covering the Budapest event, for €19.99, after a three-day free trial. An annual subscription is available for €39.99.
FINAtv, which will be powered by Deltatre’s Diva video player and Forge content management system, will be offered free of advertising, with video delivered in HD where available. Subscriptions will include live and on-demand coverage of competitions as well as exclusive interviews, features, analysis, and commentary across FINA-sanctioned swimming, diving, high diving, synchronised swimming, open water and water polo events.
“FINAtv will be a gateway for the sport to cultivate a new generation of fans that consume information at all times on all platforms.
