Deutsche Telekom taps Accedo as VR partner
Deutsche Telekom has partnered with Accedo for its Magenta Musik 360 virtual reality music offering.
Launched last month, Magenta Musik 360 is a VR experience for live concerts and has been used by Deutsche Telekom to stream VR footage of the Rock am Ring festival and a Gorillaz concert in Cologne.
The service uses Accedo’s AppGrid cloud-based video experience management platform and is available across a number of platforms – including Samsung Gear VR, Android and iOS phones and tablets as well as a responsive website.
“With the transformation of the music industry from physical discs to downloads and then streaming, live music has been the pillar of continued growth for a challenged industry,” said Accedo CEO, Michael Lantz.
“Magenta Musik 360 is providing consumers with an experience closer to the real, live experience when they are unable to be on site themselves. We are proud to be working with this ground breaking new service and are still only glimpsing the full potential for virtual reality.”
