New comedy channel for Ukraine on Volia

Ukrainian broadcaster 1+1 Media and producer Kvartal 95 have teamed up to launch a new comedy channel, Kvartal TV, that will be aired, commercial-free, by leading cable operator Volia.

The channel will air popular Ukrainian comedy series from Kvartal 95 including Matchmakers and political comedy Servant of the People.

Volia marketing director Viktoria Tsomaya said that her company was committed to working with the best ingternational proldliucers of content and that fans of popular Kvartal 95 content would now be able to view shows 24 hours a day.

Kvartal 95 artistic director Vladimir Zelensky said that the deal would make the group’s content more accessible to a wider audience.

1+1 Media pay TV director Jaroslav Paholchuck said that developing legal pay TV projects was an important priority for the broadcaster and that the agreement took its long-term cooperation with Volia to a new level.
