Endemol Shine closes US digital studio
Endemol Shine North America has closed digital video studio Endemol Beyond USA.
This will see the exit of Endemol Beyond USA president Bonnie Pan and four other employees.
Endemol Shine Group has been consolidating its digital production and distribution efforts, and has now decided to move US operations inside the wider business.
“We constantly review our approach to ensure that we are at the forefront of market trends and producing the very best creative content for both our brand and platform partners,” an Endemol Shine North America spokesperson said in a statement.
“Moving forward, all digital programming initiatives in the US will be run organically within the core infrastructure of Endemol Shine North America and its subsidiary production companies.”
Former Maker Studios content chief Pan joined Endemol Shine in 2016 to replace Will Keenan.
Shows that have followed include the recently announce Best.Cover.Ever., a coproduction with Ryan Seacrest Productions for YouTube.
Endemol Shine Beyond UK has already closed at the cost of around 20 jobs, after strategy changed from a premium YouTube channel operation to focus on branded entertainment and direct commissions.
That unit’s managing director, Randel Bryan, has since joined Van Toffler’s new business, Gunpowder & Sky, to lead an international arm.
