Toshiba launches new Ultra HD TVs
Toshiba has launched a range of new 4K, Ultra HD TVs under a brand licensing agreement with long-standing partner, Vestel.
Toshiba said it is set to offer an “affordable mid-market proposition” that encompasses everything from 65-inch OLED sets, to wide colour gamut TVs and affordable smart DVD TVs.
In total Toshiba is introducing five new series of TVs: the 65-inch X97 OLED TV; the U77 Wide Colour Gamut Series which comes in 55-inch or 49-inch models; and the U67 UHD Series, available with 66-, 55-, 49- and 43-inch screen sizes.
The other two TV ranges are the Toshiba Smart Series and the Dynamic Entry Series. The Smart Series includes 55-inch sets and smaller 39-, 32- and 24-inch DVD TVs, while the Dynamic Entry Series sets range from 49- to 24-inches in size.
“With this launch, we’re not only breathing new life into an iconic TV brand, but also revitalising the industry by offering an alternative mid-market range,” said the pan-European head of Toshiba TVs and managing director of Vestel UK, Matthew Lang.
