A+E names international programming chief
A+E has upped Laura Fleury to head of international programming, giving her a remit across channels including History, FYI, Crime + Investigation and Blaze.
She will oversee global programming, covering A+E’s originals for the international market, coproduction and acquisitions.
Fleury will also coordinate the international networks collaboration with their US counterparts and the flow of programming from the US to the global nets.
The role will also see her develop programming strategies for new channel launches as the group expands.
She has been with the company for over two decades and will remain in its New York headquarters. The new programming chief has had various roles at A+E including, since 2013, head of programming and development at the LMN channel in the US.
A+E recently brought in Patrick Vien to oversee international and he made the Fleury announcement.
“Laura is a veteran TV executive whose track record for delivering ratings hits and long-running, culturally-relevant franchises will be a major asset to the international team,” he said.
“With an eye toward making our brands more meaningful both locally and globally, her diverse acumen will be crucial for driving tailored programming strategies, market by market, and as we deepen our commitment to local production.”
Fleury added: “I’m a storyteller by nature and by trade, and to be able to collaborate with talented storytellers around the world as we grow the A+E brands is a dream come true.”
Her credits include The First 48, Cold Case Files and Parking Wars.
