Viceland lines up March launch for Netherlands
Vice’s linear TV channel, Viceland, is due to launch in the Netherlands on March 1 via Liberty Global-owned pay TV operator Ziggo.
The launch is part of Vice’s expansion into the Benelux region, with the youth lifestyle and culture channel to also go live via Telenet in Belgium on the same day.
The Dutch version of the channel will show locally-produced programming, including at launch a Viceland Holland Census – featuring young people giving their views on topics like money, politics and drugs.
This will be available alongside Viceland’s international programming, such as Gaycation (with Ellen Page); Noisey (with Zach Goldbaum); and F*ck That’s Delicious (with Action Bronson).
“Benelux is the latest in a number of expected international deals that aim to make multi-screen programming available for viewers in 51 territories,” said Viceland in a statement.
Vice first launched Viceland in the US and Canada in February 2016. The channel has since gone live in the UK, Ireland, France, Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia, with an additional forthcoming launch due in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Vice first announced plans for a Benelux Viceland launch last October.
