Periscope aims at pro market with more streaming options
Twitter-owned video streaming service, Periscope, is now allowing users to broadcast with professional equipment – not just mobile phones or tablets.
Aimed at brands, media organisations and other live video creators, the launch of Periscope Producer will let them for the first time stream high-quality live video from external sources – including streaming software, hardware encoders, and professional cameras.
“In just the last few weeks, we’ve seen captivating examples of broadcasters streaming new types of live video content on Periscope,” said the company in a blog post announcing Periscope Producer.
“Professionally-produced live broadcasts on Periscope has always been part of our vision, and gives our community new types of content to watch together live.
“You’ll start to see more produced live broadcasts on Periscope and Twitter, and we’re looking forward to watching new types of live broadcasts with you.”
