Twitter excludes video from 140-character limit
Twitter is opening its platform up to more video content by exempting video, photos, animated GIFs and polls from the traditional 140-character limit on Tweets.
Twitter made the announcement via a GIF embedded in a Tweet.
The change falls short of a rumoured move by the social media outfit to extend its character limit from 140 to 10,000. Reports of that potential change in January led to the company’s stock falling sharply.
Twitter has also said that it is testing not counting the ‘at’ sign in the 140-character limit.
