Amazon unveils release date for The Grand Tour
Amazon is to release The Grand Tour, its hotly anticipated reboot of BBC show Top Gear, on Friday November 18, with episodes to be made available weekly.
An episode of the series will be made available every Friday to Amazon Prime Video subscribers exclusively.
The show will feature the stars of the show, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, in locations around the world and will also feature a sequences filmed before a studio audience in a traveling tent.
The first episode will feature Clarkson, May and Hammond in their first studio tent recording in California. The show will be filmed later this month.
Prime members can watch The Grand Tour via the Amazon Video app for TVs, connected devices including Fire TV, mobile devices and online.
“Customers have been desperate to find out when they can watch their favourite team back on screen, so we are very excited to announce the launch date of one of the most globally anticipated shows of 2016,” said Jay Marine, vice-president of Amazon Prime Video EU.
“The guys have been having a blast filming the show around the world and we can’t wait for fans to see it weekly beginning November 18, only on Amazon Prime Video.”
Amazon recruited the team behind the popular Top Gear show last year in the wake of a scandal that involved star presenter Jeremy Clarkson hitting a member of the production team.
