Muvi adds sale of physical goods to streaming platform
White-label cloud-based video streaming platform Muvi has added the sale of content-related merchandise to its streaming video offering via a new feature called Muvi Kart.
Muvi Kart will enable its video content provider customers to sell physical products such as official merchandising, T-shirts, Caps, Mugs, Action Figures, DVDs and Blu-rays as well as other products.
According to Muvi, Muvi Kart will include analytics and marketing tools to help businesses monitor and control revenues. Other features include inventory management, a built-in coupon engine, the ability to pre-order and multiple currency and language support.
“We have always been on a constant quest of evolving as a Video Streaming Platform,” said Viraj Mehta, head of international business, Muvi.
“This time we wanted to do something very unique and the idea of being able to sell your merchandises alongside video content was tempting, as we’ve studied that our customers were not completely able to monetise on a lot of their users. They would lose on viewers that would just surf around free content and leave. Tempting such viewers with their favourite merchandising products, advertised alongside their favourite videos, would help them convert, and thus, Muvi Kart was born.”
Muvi offers a white-label self-service video platform that enables content owners to launch streaming live and on-demand services for a monthly fee.
