Arkena to showcase new OTT platform
Media services provider Arkena is demonstrate a new OTT platform at IBC. The company describes Cloud4TV as an open, cloud-based video distribution platform enabling content owners and broadcasters to distribute their content to their audience on any connected device.
Cloud4TV is designed to enable big broadcasters as well as smaller organizations to set up OTT video services via the cloud.
Customers can have access to a web interface to manage their offers and device entitlements together with an automated content preparation system and a set of applications to browse the content, according to Arkena.
Arkena has teamed up with Cleeng, a specialized platform in authentication, e-commerce and secure transaction for premium content, to provide various payment options and business models spanning live, catch-up, TVOD, SVOD and AVOD as well as download to own and download to rent.
Arkena has also partnered with Dotscreen, a multiscreen agency for video apps, to create and develop front-end white label-based applications for PC, smartphones, iOS and Android tablets and other devices.
To secure content playback for authorized users and devices, Cloud4TV supports formats including 4K and main studio-approved DRM such as PlayReady, Widevine, Marlin and FairPlay.
Another partnership with Akamai’s global CDN platform enables Arkena to offer customers delivery of video to connected devices across the world as part of iits portfolio of managed 24/7 media services products.
