ER-Telecom expands footprint with St Petersburg, Ryazan acquisitions
Russian service provider ER-Telecom has expanded its footprint by acquiring smaller multi-play provider West Call SPb, which operates via four subsidiaries in the cities of St Petersburg, the wider Leningrad region and Ryazan in south-eastern central Russia.
ER-Telecom has acquired 100% control of St Petersburg-based West Call and Kredolink and Ryazan-based Intertelecom and Enlink Telecommunications.
The new acquisitions will continue to operate under their existing brands.
Andrei Kuzyaev, president of ER-Telecom, said that St Petersburg and Ryazan were strategically important centres for the operator and that it intended to strengthen its position by launching new products in these cities.
West Call CEO Viktoria Tikhonova said that ER-Telecom would bring the benefits of professional experience and strong corporate values. She said that the agreement would provide West Call with the opportunity strengthen its position in the market.
In addition to residential and corporate telecom services West Call provides an IPTV service offering over 100 Russian and international TV channels, including HD services, along with a network DVR service.
