Perform launches DAZN live sports streaming service in Germany
Sports rights group Perform has launched its DAZN live streaming service in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
DAZN is described by Perform as the world’s first dedicated live sports streaming service, providing fans with unlimited access to watch live and on-demand sport on multiple devices.
The service is available for €9.99 a month with no long-term fixed contract and no advertising. Customers can also try the service for free for the first month.
DAZN gives sports fans live access to English Premier League football starting with this Saturday’s Premier League match between Champions Leicester City and Hull City, as well as live football from La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1, plus highlights of every match from Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2. Perform revealed plans for the service in June after its acquisition of web rights to highlights of Bundesliga football matches.
Other sports include NBA, NFL, tennis, motorsports, boxing, ice hockey, rugby and darts.
Simon Denyer, CEO of Perform Group, said: “At DAZN, we put fans first and in control. German sports fans can choose to watch the sport they love whenever and wherever they like, with no long-term fixed contract and no advertising, for just €9.99. By joining DAZN fans will enjoy an unparalleled streaming experience, with more live sport available than any service before. Incredible moments in sport happen every day, not just during the major events. We won’t make the broadcasting choices for you. As a subscriber you’ll have the freedom to set your own sporting agenda. We’re delivering something very different.”
Perform has tapped technology group Massive for Massive AXIS, its Video App UI solution.
“Working with DAZN is another great example of how our technology changes the playing field for advanced live and on-demand video services. Massive AXIS offers an elegant solution to solving multi-device video service delivery, and we are pleased to see it supporting DAZN to offer something extraordinary to its subscribers,” said Ron Downey, CEO and Co-founder of Massive Interactive.
