Deutsche Telekom to stream 360-degree Chili Peppers concert
Deutsche Telekom is due to air a 360-degree live-stream of the Red Hot Chili Peppers in concert, in what it claims is a first-of-its-kind broadcast in Germany.
The operator will stream the HD immersive footage from the Chili Peppers’ September 6 gig at the Kraftwerk Berlin events space.
The footage will be accessible with a smartphone and VR equipment such as a Google Cardboard phone holder or Samsung Gear VR headset.
The concert is part of Deutsche Telekom’s music community programme, Telekom Street Gigs, and will take place during German electronics trade show, IFA.
“Together with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, in cooperation with Warner Music Group Germany and thanks to the best network, we will create a new dimension of entertainment, using the 360-degree live stream and virtual reality technology,” said Deutsche Telekom’s head of communications and distribution marketing, Michael Schuld.
