BBC Worldwide names CEE chief

Salim Mukaddam

BBC Worldwide has named Salim Mukaddam as its CEE boss, overseeing its channels business and programme sales in the region.

Mukaddam has been upped at the commercial arm of the UK pubcaster, having been running sales of music programming.

His appointment as regional general manager and VP comes after previous exec in that position, Nick Percy, moved internally to run a newly-created northern Europe division.

Mukkadam will report to Grant Welland, executive VP for the Central Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMA) region at Worldwide.

He said: “I’m looking forward to seeing Salim bring his entrepreneurial spirit and passion to our operations in CEE. We’re delighted to have him on board for such a key role within the management team at CEMA.”

Mukkadam, a trained lawyer, added: “I’m really looking forward to joining an already outstanding team to deliver on the huge growth opportunities for our business across Central and Eastern Europe and continuing to build on CEMA’s success for the future.”

His notable deals in the music space included sales for an Adele concert special, and the Shakespeare Live! From the RSC project.
