Humax updates Freeview Play DVR software

Set-top box maker Humax has launched an IP update for its FVP-4000T Freeview Play HD digital recorder.

Humax said the update introduces a “number of enhancements” to the DVR, including a redesigned Humax Home Page interface; a tweaked Electronic Programming Guide (EPG) that now displays seven channels on the page; and faster and simpler options for recording entire series.

The update is also designed to increases the stability of the WiFi connection, minimising interruptions to the viewing experience.

“Following feedback from our customers, we have introduced significant improvements to the UI and EPG, to enable a smoother, more intuitive user experience for owners of our extremely popular digital recorder,” said Humax commercial director, Graham North.

The Humax FVP-4000T was the first DVR to offer the Freeview Play connected TV service, which provides a combination of on-demand services, catch-up TV and live television.
