Proximus to air more football
Belgian telco Proximus’s TV platform is to double the number of football matches it broadcasts from the Proximus League – Belgium’s second-tier league – for the 2016-17 season.
Proximus renewed its partnership with the Pro League a few months ago with exclusive broadcasting rights to division 1B, or the Proximus League, for the next four seasons.
Previously, Proximus broadcast two free matches of the Proximus League per week. As of season 2016-17, it will broadcast four matches – effectively, 100% of the competition, per week.
Proximus will make both the Proximus League and the top-tier Jupiler League on the 11 channel for €9.95 a month.
Proximus airs Jupiler League games non-exclusively, sharing the rights with cable operators Telenet and Voo under a deal struck in 2014.
