A+E Networks renews Multichoice deal

A+E Networks has renewed its carriage deal for History and Crime + Investigation with Africa’s Multichoice.

The deal means the two channels will continue to be distributed via the DStv platform across Sub-Saharan Africa alongside A+E Networks’ Lifetime channel.

“The past two years have seen tremendous growth for A+E Networks’ business in Africa. Today’s announcement demonstrates our continued commitment to this market and we are excited about its future potential,” said A+E Networks’ recently appointed general manager for Africa, Yusuf Nabee.

A+E Networks first partnered with Multichoice in 2003, when it launched History across Africa. It added Crime + Investigation in 2007 and launched Lifetime in 2014.

In 2015 A+E Networks opened an office in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Nabee, A+E’s first general manager for Africa, joined earlier this month.
