Vizrt appoints new CEO

Digital media production specialist Vizrt has appointed the CEO of Swedish customer experience management firm Qmatic Group, Michael Hallen, as its new chief executive.

Hallen will take up the new role on August 1, replacing Martin Burkhalter, who recently retired after heading the company for six years. Chief operating officer François Laborie will remain acting CEO in the interim.

Hallen and 25 years of global software business experience and prior to Qmatic was CEO of Boss Media – a software maker for the gaming and gambling industry.

“With Michael and the Vizrt team I am convinced that we can continue Vizrt’s track record for innovation, leverage our company’s leadership in broadcast graphics and broaden our scope into leadership in video creation, storytelling and video distribution on all platforms,” said Vizrt’s chairman of the board, Torben Munch.
