Unitymedia to close down analogue TV next year
Liberty Global-owned German cable operator Unitymedia has set out plans to complete its transition to digital TV by next year, after securing the support of the regional media authorities of North-Rhine Westphalia, Hesse and Baden-Wurttemberg.
Unitymedia said that Hanau, near Frankfurt-am-Main in Hesse, will be the first city in its network to be completely digital.
Separately, Unitymedia has lowered the price of its double and triple-play packages. Those signing up to its 2play MAX 400 or 3play MAX 400 offerings, which include 400Mbps intenet access, will benefit from discounts of €10 a month over the term of their 24-month contract.
