Vectra launches SVoD movie offering

Polish cable operator Vectra is to launch a new subscription video-on-demand offering, Filmklub, which will offer a range of movies for a flat monthly fee.

The service, which will go live on March 7, will offer access to 30 titles each month for PLN14.90 (€3.45), with most titles available in HD.

Vectra promises two to three premieres a week, to be released each Friday, with titles to be available during an eight week window. Movies will be versioned in Polish through the locally popular lectoring format. The service will be ad-free.

Aleksandra Kozłowska, responsible for the service, said that the content of the package would change dynamically thanks to Vectra’s cooperation with service’s supplier, Cineman. The company launched Poland’s first online movie VoD store, cineman.pl, in 2007.

Titles at launch will include The Expendables 3, Before I Go to Sleep and The Nut Job.

Vectra’s SVoD launch follows the recent debut of Netflix in the country.
