YouTube seeks next wave of hit channels
YouTube will select up to 360 channels around the world to take part in its 2016 NextUp contest.
The annual scheme, which first launched in 2011, is designed to help video makers on the site “turbocharge their YouTube channels” and has helped 250 YouTube creators from 15 countries to date.
“We’re looking for passionate, motivated and inspiring YouTube creators. Sharpen your production skills to tell more compelling stories and receive mentorship from production and channel development professionals, alongside other talented creators,” said YouTube sponsorships program manager, Natalie Marchant.
Video makers selected to join the NextUp class of 2016 will be eligible to a US$2,500 voucher for video production equipment, a spot at a week-long creator camp at the YouTube Space in Los Angeles or New York, and mentorship from previous graduates of the scheme.
