Opera 2.0 platform debuts at CES
Opera has launched version 2.0 of its Opera TV platform, promising to bring “video content to the forefront” and offer more content personalisation.
The HTML5-based application platform debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and will launch on Hisense Smart TVs in the first quarter of 2016.
The Opera TV 2.0 update will be rolled to more than 1,000 models of smart TVs, Blu-ray players and set-top-boxes from other manufacturers this year, according to the company.
“Consumers today want a dedicated video experience where app content is delivered to them based on their preferences, location, language, and what content is new,” said Aneesh Rajaram, Opera’s senior vice president for TV and devices.
