Channel 5 taps Monterosa for Big Brother app
UK broadcaster Channel 5 has signed a one-year deal with second screen firm Monterosa, which will power the companion app for the 2016 series of Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother.
The app will run on Monterosa’s LViS interaction platform, which will let the Big Brother production team react to the on-screen action by creating and publishing polls and reviewing the votes received in real-time.
“Endemol Shine’s Big Brother franchise remains at the heart of Channel 5’s entertainment offering. As such, we were looking for the most versatile, robust platform on the market – one that would offer fans a compelling range of polling and interaction options, and one that would stand up to the demands of such a popular show,” said Channel 5’s director of digital media and commercial development, James Tatam.
Earlier this year Monterosa announced a deal with BBC Worldwide to provide the first official companion app for its global Dancing with the Stars franchise.
The firm has also partnered with companies including TV2 Norway, The Voice producer Talpa, and French broadcaster TF1.
