Arkena taps NexGuard for digital watermarking

Media services and technology provider Arkena has integrated NexGuard’s NexGuard Pre-Release watermarking system in its Cloud4Media content management platform.

NexGuard Pre-Release  is based on file embedder and manager. The NexGuard file embedder adds a unique video watermark to each copy of the content as part of an automated process.

The watermarking technology adds digital markers to video signals and assets before or after transcoding. These labels enable the tracking of an asset, so that any leaks can be tracked back to their source, according to Arkena.

“NexGuard Pre-Release is a market-leading watermarking solution that will enable our customers to benefit from a preventative measure against the illegal redistribution of media and additional protection throughout the content production value-chain. NexGuard Pre-Release is able to process all the major file formats, including ProRes and IMF, two of the leading mezzanine formats within the industry,” said François Lignon, VP product content management at Arkena.
